| ‘EDMASTER Circuit Training Why use ‘EDMASTER Circuit Training? Motivation comes easier when you train in a group, especially with your competitors! You want to use a Motocross specific training session rather than a general fitness routine. You enjoy training with like minded sports people. You want to make the most out of your day by training and riding which is convenient to you. What will I gain from ‘EDMASTER Circuit Training? Completing the circuit training will gain you stamina from an hours work out. The exercises include stretching style events which improves your suppleness required for ever increasing balance on the bike. Using events which have weights and core exercises improve your posture and your ability to maintain control of your bike. Increased body speed, being able to respond quicker to any situation whilst racing your bike. A higher lactate threshold so you can make those extra efforts whilst racing such as making a pass. How does ‘EDMASTER Circuit Training work? Arrive for the warm up at 9.30 at Bawrty New Hall (Parking is available outside). The circuit starts straight after warming up. Two laps of many different exercises which are challenging to anyone at any level and changed periodically. A cool down completes the training and finishes shortly after 10.30. Doncaster Moto Parc will open for practice at 11.30 until 4.00 By doing the events in the circuit, your body will adapt to quickly recovering during the short rests before starting the next event. This improves your fitness. |
Who is it for? Circuit training is for riders over the age of 14 years, enjoy training and want to make the most out of a day’s Motocross practice by including fitness training as well. | ‘EDMASTER Fitness tests Fitness tests are a way of monitoring, with precision, your fitness. Fitness tests can be done in two ways: 1, By carrying out a specific test and measuring differences in time and heart rate throughout the test and can be done as regular as 6 to 8 weeks, or, 2, In a laboratory where it is possible to measure oxygen uptake and take blood samples whilst carrying out the test. It is recommended to have 2 or 3 in a year. Why have ‘EDMASTER Fitness tests? You want to avoid injuries and burning out by over training. You are serious about your fitness. You want to know exactly where you are now and want to be able to measure your progress in the future. You want to use a specific training program to suit you. What’s involved with ‘EDMASTER Fitness tests? Tests are held at Sheffield’s Hallam University. Firstly there are initial health screening tests. Choose your training equipment most suited to you; either Treadmill or Cycle. Whilst using the machines you will breathe through a mouth piece and have blood samples taken from your ear or finger every 4 minutes. The test lasts up to 30 minutes. After a cool down a further 2 strength tests for arms and legs are carried out. The report is sent from the libratory with 10 days. |
How do ‘EDMASTER Fitness tests work? The initial screening tests include having your blood pressure, height, weight, body mass and lung vital capacity recorded for current health indications and future measurement comparisons. The test starts of easy and the resistance /speed is increased until the point of exhaustion. As the test is carried out, oxygen consumption and other relevant information is recorded and later used for the report. Blood is taken every 4 minutes to measure the amount of lactate building up in your blood and is used along with your maximum heart rate to measure your current fitness and give you specific heart rate zones that are written up in your report. The two strength tests are measured from three repititions using an adapted concept III rowing machine. Who is it for? The serious racer (or the really curious) who knows the importance of training. What if I have ‘EDMASTER Fitness tests? What if you found out just how fit you are and what if you knew specifically what heart rate zone to train in to gain a totally new level of fitness. Fitness programs are a great way to improve your fitness, keep you motivated and monitor your progress, however, most general fitness programs can leave you on a platue because they are very general. EDMASTER Bespoke fitness plans are progressive, challenging and precise. They also take into consideration the most convenient exercises for you, access to your local amenities and your time frame to carry out training sessions. More importantly making sure that you are doing the correct training at the correct time of year. Why use ‘EDMASTER Bespoke Fitness Plans? You are serious about training and doing the correct type of training at the right time of your racing season. Improving your racing results through your physical capabilities is important to you. You find it hard to plan or know what to do next when exercising. You want a training program related to your sport. What will you gain from ‘EDMASTER Bespoke Fitness Plans? If you have carried out a Maximal heart rate fitness test this data is used to create specific training zones for sessions (otherwise personal perception of effort is used). An initial consultation will help provide the bedrock to forming your best plans and future progress. This information is used to create your personal plan. The plan can be for just 6 weeks or continually, as you require. As soon as you get your program you can start training, speak to your coach and have your queries answered. |
How does ‘EDMASTER Bespoke Fitness Plans work? The consultations regarding your plan gathers information of your current fitness, how often and when you race, how many races and how long they are in your days racing, how often you can train and what resources you have available to you. As your plan is progressive you can choose the length of your training plan from 8 weeks to 12 months. Ranging from Strength training, Metabolic training and Maintenance training. Depending on the period of your racing season. Who is it for? Any one over the age 14 years, who knows how easy it is to follow a predetermined routine specifically designed for you as a motorcycle athlete. What if I use ‘EDMASTER Bespoke Fitness Plans? | ‘EDMASTER Heart Rate Monitor and PC Software There are many Heart Rate monitors on the market ranging from basic watches which display actual heart rate and stop watch through to more advanced ones which can indicate over training and have the ability to be able to download all your recorded data so you can follow and monitor your progress.
