General practice days
General practice days are organised practice days to members where Off road enthusiasts can come and ride in a safe and controlled environment.
Signing on is available from 9.30am so you can be ready before your first practice session begins (practice session start at 10am).
Please allow some extra time for signing on during your first visit.
There are 3 groups that use the main track;
The kids group is for geared 65cc bikes up to big wheel 85/150f’s.
The adult groups are for bikes above 125/250f and created so that there is a separation between Novice and Expert riders.
The groups are Novice/Intermediate and Intermediate/Expert.
Novice riders are classed as beginners who are starting out in Off road/Motocross.
Intermediate riders are classed as competent riders who can comfortably maneuver around a Motocross track and ride for fun and/or race at club level.
Expert riders are riders who have great control of their bike at all times, including jumps and race at club expert level or higher.
Riders are currently asked, when signing on, what group they want to ride in. Our marshals assess riders’ abilities as you are riding on the track, if you are too fast or slow for the group, the Marshals will use the red flag to pull you off the track and you will be given a different wrist band and put in the correct group.
We run 3 groups, each session is 20 minutes in duration and the maximum number of riders on the track is 50, however this may be reduced, depending on the track layout.
On busy days it may be required that we use an extra group (if there is more than 50 riders), if so, we will produce two groups of 35 riders to enable a better quality of practice for you, the rider. When this happens sessions are often reduced to 15 minutes in duration.
The Minibike track is open to members on bikes up to big wheel 85/150f (including competent Auto riders) and when necessary small and big wheeled 85/150f bikes will be separated from small bikes, otherwise, there are no time restrictions on this track.
The Auto track is for Autos only. There are no time or group restrictions on this track so the youngest riders can ride to their hearts content.
For total beginners, the start straight is closed off to provide a large safe area where getting to grips with controlling the bike is easy.
